Impact Sustainably

Environment

Forest Friendly Packaging

Our teas are packaged in re-useable cloth bags made in the villages by the tea estate communities. The proceeds of the cloth bags belong to those who make them. Our tags are made from ‘sustainable paper’. Our products are hand picked. We choose to only stock loose leaf teas. Our ‘natural tea bag’ is an excellent, packaging free option.

Reducing Single Use Plastic

One bottle at a time we are managing to reduce the consumption of single use plastic water bottles in Sri Lanka.

Our team uses re fillable bottles. All travellers with us are given re-usable bottles.

This allows refilling from filtered water stations throughout the country where available.

Positive Impacts

At present our programme for volunteering in Sri Lanka is diverse. Join in reforestation efforts, help with stray dogs, lend a hand to build a school or a home.

We have teamed up with a local charity to offer you an opportunity to engage in authentic & meaningful encounters with small communities.

Each experience is genuine, each impact is positive. You can be involved for an hour or two or a full week if time allows.

At Impact Tea we have volunteer options from home while travel is at a standstill.

At Impact Escapes we are committed to working with local operators in the regions we visit to ensure we benefit local communities.

Impact Escapes is an active member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. We are not perfect but we are dedicated to keep working harder to improve. Sally and Alex are also both certified in responsible travel with the GSTC.

We are proud to have been recognised and approved by Good Market & Good Travel. This a global organisation recognising businesses who are making an effort to offer responsible, sustainable solutions for our environment, communities & wildlife.
